1#The UNU Rector’s scholarship

The UNU Rector’s scholarship provides an allowance of 130,000 JPY per month for including living expenses for 2 years. Full tuition fee coverage by the donor of the scholarship. Travel costs will be covered to Japan from the home country of the applicant.

2#The JFUNU scholarships

This scholarship at United Nations University provides a monthly allowance of 120,000 JPY to meet living expenses for up to 3 years. The traveling cost to Japan, visa fee, health insurance will be covered by the student. Tuition fees are fully funded for the recipient.

3#Asian Development Bank- Japan Scholarships program

It is one of the highest-paid scholarships at United Nations University. Asian Development Bank Japanese scholarship will provide full tuition fee, housing allowance, accident insurance, subsistent allowance, and instrumental allowance in this scholarship.  The monthly allowance worth 147,000 JPY. An economy class air ticket will also be provided from home country to Japan.

4#The Resona Bank scholarships

The Resona bank scholarship for the UNU IAS program will provide a monthly allowance of 130,000 JPY to cover living expenses for 2 years. The donor of the scholarship program will cover the tuition fee. The scholarship will also provide the airfare ticket from the home country to Japan.

Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria to meet United Nations University IAS scholarship is given below:

  • Applicants must be residents of developing countries as per the list of OECD DAC.
  • Applicants in need of financial assistance
  • Candidates residing in Japan from other countries are not eligible to apply.
  • A person holding a Master’s degree cannot apply for another Master’s program at UNU IAS.
  • A person holding a doctoral degree already is not eligible to apply.
